All Blooming Marvellous in South Wales

ShanEastwoodUncategorized, Welsh Road Trips

Whatever your doing whether planting or visiting the gardens of Wales you have to slow down ! The seasons changing and Autumn  has arrived the late summer sun still calls us to get outside and dig or admire the seasons best  and Wales has great venues to visit , The Dahlias at Dyffryn are stunning and some are as big as your head ! Or inspired by your visit you can then look for inspiration at some of the great garden centres like some of my clients , Where actually a boot full of gardening goodies signifies a great day and many still ahead !

One of my favourite tours is visiting the garden centres or  gardens such as the Cowbridge Physic or the walled garden at Dunraven .  Whatever the weather they are great showcases for the Vale, unique in their location and very loved    , just getting the chance to get  out and about and  enjoy the air can be  a rare thing these days , Just being still and watching the seasons change is the beauty of  the heritage coast where we have so much on our doorstep   ! Its not long since I wrote ” Take your time and look out for Autumns stars of the show  like the Cosmos or Pansies. Watching your winter veg grow? Unfortunately my cauliflowers have a long way to go before they are as big as your head , but my runner beans are still good and feeding the neighbours.”.   Now its all about welcoming the spring although I still have geraniums and nasturtiums  in bloom in January I am looking forward to  the March flowers and watching my bulbs spring to life . Its time to start getting around the Gardens for inspiration and I hope you will join me .

Also as the nights draw out what better than to get your fires stoked up and remember our ancestors who first farmed Wales so many years ago , but then that’s a whole new, old story!
